28th February 2026: Ongoing Conflict in Middle East

Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, further impacts to travel, including delays, rerouting and cancellation remain likely.

If you’re travelling, or are about to travel

If you have been directly impacted by this event, we strongly advise you to please call our 24-hour emergency assistance team immediately on +61 2 9333 3922. We further urge you to follow the guidance and instructions provided by local authorities, emergency services and the DFAT Smartraveller website.

Please be aware that if you choose to travel to, or remain, in a destination that is subject to a Do Not Travel warning, you may not have cover under your policy, and our ability to offer assistance may be limited.

If you are yet to buy a policy, please be aware that our policies contain exclusions for known events, acts of war or the use of military force.

This means that if your flight is delayed, cancelled or rerouted due to the conflict, there may not be cover available under the policy.

Our policies do not cover claims arising from travelling in, to, from, or through a country or area subject to a Do Not Travel warning by the Australian Government through Smartraveller.

This travel alert has been in effect since June 2025 and still applies to the escalation of conflict in February 2026.  Original publish date 24/06/2025

Please read carefully the full terms and conditions of any travel insurance policy before purchasing, as set out in the applicable Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

If your travel plans are affected

If you need to change your travel arrangements, contact your airline, cruise company or travel agent for assistance in the first instance. Please retain all supporting documentation evidencing expenses incurred. Please remember, under the terms of your policy, you are required to take reasonable steps to avoid or minimise any loss.

If you have purchased a policy with us, you can make a claim at any time and it will be assessed.  If you need to submit a claim, please complete a claim on our claims portal and if you need help doing this, please contact us. All claims are assessed on a case by case basis under the terms and conditions of the PDS.
