Tips for planning a round the world trip
Planning a trip around the world can be exciting yet overwhelming. Keep these tips in mind to ensure your journey goes smoothly:
- Check that your passport is valid and renew it if necessary: Your passport is essential for travel. Make sure it’s valid for your whole trip. Some countries require six months of validity from your date of arrival. If it’s near expiry, renew it early to avoid issues
- Understand visa requirements for your destinations: Different countries have different rules for entry, and some need a visa. Check each destination on your route and apply for any visas in advance. Missing a visa could disrupt your plans or cause delays.
- Get vaccinated before travelling if required: Certain destinations require vaccinations or medication. Check health regulations and visit your healthcare provider for any needed vaccines or prescriptions. Some vaccines take weeks to be effective, so plan ahead.
- Familiarise yourself with local laws and customs: Every country has unique laws and customs. What is normal in one place might be illegal in another. Learn the local culture, rules, and etiquette to avoid problems. This helps you be a respectful traveller.
- Make sure you have the local currency to avoid issues abroad: Not every place accepts card payments, so it’s wise to have local currency. Exchange money before you leave or use an ATM when you arrive. Having the right cash makes transport and small purchases easier.

What our customers say
"Absolutely WONDERFUL to deal with, and an Australian-based call centre made it even more so! Nicky was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful, with a friendly and warm manner. And to add to this, even my being a “boomer” with a pre-existing condition and about to embark on a worldwide trip including the USA, their pricing was BY FAR the cheapest, most quotes 2-3 times more expensive. I’ve used them before and would highly recommend without qualifications. 10/10"
