    Declaring arthritis

Declaring arthritis: What you need to know

You will need to declare arthritis if the following apply:

    • If you have received surgery, in or out-patient treatment, tests or investigations in a hospital, clinic or GP surgery within the last 24 months for your arthritis.

    • If you have been prescribed medication for your arthritis in the last 5 years, you should declare it.

If neither of these situations apply, then you don’t need to declare it.

The types of arthritis we cover

There are over 100 different types of arthritis related conditions.

We can usually provide travel insurance for psoriatic arthritis, travel insurance for rheumatoid arthritis, travel insurance for osteoarthritis and related conditions such as Fibomyalgia, Ostrochondritis, Gout, etc. Indeed, we can usually cover any type of arthritis.

If you cannot find your specific type listed, please call us on +61 2 9333 3923.

If the type of arthritis you have is not coming up as an option

During the quote process when you are asked to declare your medical conditions, you’ll need to select ‘Add condition’. Then type ‘arthritis’ into the search bar and select ‘search’. You will then see ‘arthritis’, ‘septic arthritis’, ‘rheumatoid arthritis’, ‘juvenile arthritis’, ‘osteoarthritis’, and ‘psoriatic arthritis’ as options for you to select. You might find this article useful too ‘Finding your medical condition’.

Once you select one of these there will be some specific follow up questions.

If none of these match your type of arthritis we may still be able to offer you cover. Please contact our customer care team on +61 2 9333 3923.
